Wellness Chiropractic Care for Public Health Week

During the first full week of April each year, the American Public Health Association (APHA) strives to bring together communities across the country to observe a National Public Health Week as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving the overall health of our nation. One of the initiatives for Public Health Week is celebrating the power of prevention. One aspect of prevention that many people don’t know about is wellness chiropractic care, so we thought this would be a good week to discuss it.

Pre-Symptomatic Health Problems

From a young age, most of us have been taught to think of being sick as the only way of having obvious symptoms. However, this is not always the case. These days, many health problems are the result of lifestyle choices that don’t always have obvious symptoms until the effects are very advanced. Basically, your care shouldn’t be based on whether you have pain or other symptoms. For example, subluxations may exist without obvious symptoms, similar to dental cavities, high blood pressure or heart disease.

Wellness Chiropractic Care

How well your body functions is based upon the integrity of your nervous system. Spinal joints that aren’t moving properly can choke or irritate nearby nerves. Chiropractic adjustments add motion to these stuck joints, reducing the nervous system disruption. That’s why people are starting to seek wellness chiropractic care. They want to make sure that every organ and tissue has an uninterrupted nerve supply. It just makes sense to detect little problems before they become serious concerns. Plus, since chiropractic adjustments help your body “right itself,” it’s highly proficient and most people report a sense of ease and well-being after their adjustment.
